Contemplative photography combines the practice of being fully present and totally aware with looking at the world with a perspective that sees the richness and beauty that may not be readily obvious. Rather than concentrating on subject matter or the technical aspects of photography, contemplative photographers use their cameras to express the experience of seeing the world as it manifests to them. In my contemplative photography practice, I combine my photographs with quotes or prayers that seem to embody the feeling of the photograph. (Note: All of the pictures are not visible in the gallery. Another way to use photography for contemplation is through Visio Divina, which uses images to commune with Spirit. You can find out more about Visio Divina in her book listed on the Product page.
